Plan a day out at Vandalur Zoo, Chennai
Heading out to Chennai for a business meet and don’t know what to do in the afternoon once the meeting gets over. How about spending some time at India’s epic Zoological Park – the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as Vandalur zoo? Not only is this the first zoo that was opened in India, it is also one among the biggest zoos in South-East Asia.

The park has a huge collection of lions, tigers, monkeys, crocodiles, birds, elephants, reptiles, deer’s and other rare species of animals and birds. For a wildlife enthusiast, the zoo would take about a 5 – 6 hours tour. Hence there are numerous benches and huts built across the premises for travellers to take rest between visiting one gallery to the other. The zoo is neatly maintained and is a storehouse of information if one wants to learn about the eating habits about animals, or other traits. We would strongly recommend that you bring along your family on your trip to Chennai so that your kids get an opportunity to visit the zoo.

The Covelong Beach is approximately 40 kms from Chennai and is easily accessible by a car. It is on the way to Mahabalipuram. The beach offers a soothing and calm ambiance with stunning sunrises and sunsets, shimmering sand and the gushing and receding waves. Apart from a range of thrilling water sports, the beach is also lined with historic monuments such as a Catholic Church, ruins of a Dutch fort and several temples and mosques. The long stretch of white sand lined with palm groves and scattered with colourful sea shells, provides a unique setting to unwind after a hectic day.
